Ownership and Store Links
Tank & Tankless has the same owners as two water treatment stores, SoftPro Water Systems and Quality Water Treatment, and links to them only on five pages about hard water, scale and well-water odor.
Who owns this site
Tank & Tankless has the same owners as SoftPro Water Systems and Quality Water Treatment, two stores that sell water treatment equipment such as water softeners and filters. The site does not sell, install or repair water heaters, and it is not affiliated with any water heater maker. More about the site is on the about page.
Where store links appear
Store links appear only where water treatment bears on a water heater. That is five pages:
- Hard water and tankless water heaters: makers set hardness limits for their warranties, so softener and scale-prevention products are relevant.
- Descaling a tankless water heater: scale-prevention products are shown as an option between descalings, not a replacement for them.
- Hard water and water heaters: softeners for hard city or well water, framed as optional and matched to a hardness test.
- Water softeners and water heaters: the comparison of softeners and salt-free conditioners, including the point that softened water wears the anode faster.
- Hot water smells like rotten eggs: well-water sulfur filters, only for odor that is also in the cold well water and only after a water test. Smell made by the anode rod needs no filter.
Each store link has a note beside it saying which store sells the product and that it has the same owners as this site. Store pages also carry a disclosure strip near the top. No other page links to the stores.
How store claims are handled
What a product does, according to its listing, is reported as the store's own claim, not tested or confirmed here. For example, salt-free conditioners do not remove hardness; the store describes them as scale prevention, and the pages note that makers' manuals name a water softener or the maker's own product instead. Prices are given only as the store's listed price on a stated date.
What we never do
Store links are never marked as paid placements, because none are paid, and they never carry a sponsored tag. There are no rankings, "best" lists or star ratings of store products or of water heaters. No other retailer, contractor or manufacturer pays for placement on this site.
